Fostering
Adoption
When you have found your perfect furfamily member on our site, Please use our contact form and let us know the dog or dogs that you are interested in. We will then arrange a Home Check to be done to see if that dog or another one of our dogs would be suitable to join your family. We endeavour to place the dogs that are more suited to your family lifestyle.
We care about the welfare of all the dogs entrusted to us, it is important to us that they go to good homes. So many have endured hardship or bad treatment prior to coming to SPRS, that we want to ensure they go to loving homes where they will be happy and well cared for for the rest of their lives.
Adopting a rescue dogs saves so many lives it gives these dogs a second chance at a first time of love and happiness that they should have had at the beginning. By adopting their life now starts with you.
A Contract and Adoption Donation applies to all of our dogs and follow up checks will be done following the Adoption procedure on a regular basis.
All dogs are Spayed or Neutered, Vaccinated, Microchipped and have Rescue Back Up (RBU) for support.
We adopt nationwide but prospective adopters must be prepared to carry out a meet and greet to spend some with their potential new family member.
What is Fostering
Fostering is taking a dog into your own home until we can find a loving forever home. We are always looking for people to offer foster care to our dogs from within the UK especially as we are experiencing an increase in the number of Shar Pei coming into rescue.
Our dogs sometimes require special attention if they need medical treatment, have issues following on from being kenneled, or we need to see how they get on in a home environment. Our fosterers offer invaluable care whilst gaining skills, experience and an opportunity to give dogs the best opportunities to find new homes.
Being a fosterer
By being a fosterer you are contributing so much to the lives of the dogs in SPRS care, in addition to the feelings of pride when you watch them grow in confidence and through you it gives them an opportunity to help find new and loving forever homes. You will be a member of a great group of people who care passionately about Shar Pei and are always willing to offer advice and support.
Fosterers must be within driving distance of our Vet in Ayr and east Kilbride or willing to travel regularly for the dogs appointments.
All we ask is that you treat your new foster dog as one of the family until their family finds them safe and happy in your care.
If you are interested in becoming a Foster carer or would like more information please get in touch by emailling us on enquiriessprs@yahoo.com
